Calcium propionate, like other fats, can be metabolized and absorbed by humans and animals, providing them with essential calcium. This advantage is unmatched by any other mildewproof agent, and is generally regarded as GRAS. It has a wide range of antibacterial effects on mold, yeast and bacteria, etc. It can be used as a preservative in bread and cakes. The lower pH value is, the higher the preservative effect is. Store in a dry and cool storeroom and keep it from rain and moisture.
